“Award for Merit” for Northern Norwich Leaders

It gives me great pleasure in announcing the following recipients of the Award For Merit.  

From 1^st Drayton – Suzanne Childs and Roger Childs – in recognition of their dedicated service with the Cub Pack at 1^st Drayton and in Suzanne’s role as Explorer Scout Leader – Young Leader Manager.

From the 11^th Norwich – Marc Middleton and Danny Burns – for their dedicated service to the Group as members of the Executive Committee.

From the 44^th Norwich – Linda Hazel – for dedicated service to the Group as Secretary to the Executive Committee.

From the Active Support Unit – Jan West – in recognition of her dedicated service supporting Scouting in the District.

From the Active Support Unit – Alison Prendergast and Luke Prendergast in recognition of their commitment and dedication supporting scouting across the District and in particular to those members of the 18^th Norwich.

From the 18^th Norwich – Andrew Wrenn in recognition of his dedicated service with the Scout Troop at the 18^th  Norwich (1^st Hellesdon) ELO Scout Group.

From the District Explorer Section – David Wright for his dedicated service with Explorer Scouts and the promotion of scouting opportunities for the young people in this Section.

From the District Team – Lisa Wright for her huge contribution in progressing Explorer Scouting in the District including her work with the District Executive.  Also the positive way Lisa has undertaken the role of District Commissioner and her active support to Groups, Leaders and young people.

The Award for Merit is given for outstanding service of not less than 12 years and 10 years exceptionally, for keen, conscientious, imaginative and dedicated service over a sustained period.

Many congratulations to our friends in the District on their Awards for everything they have done.  We look forward to continuing to work together in scouting. We will be making presentations at our forthcoming AGM on the 3^rd July and after the official part of the meeting we will have the opportunity to socialise and personally congratulate them over refreshments.
