The annual County Scout Shooting Competition was held at the 1st Taverham Scout HQ on Saturday 7th October when 13 teams from 7 Districts took part. Despite cold wet weather, the spirit of the scouts were high and they completed keenly in four disciplines – rifle standing, rifle kneeling, rifle prone and pistols. The 8 scouts who represented Northern Norwich District did well with the two teams finishing first and second in the competition.
The results were:
1st Northern Norwich “1” 1084
2nd Northern Norwich “2” 907
3rd North East Norfolk “1” 876
Arianna Stanton (1st Horsford & St Faiths) was the winner in the highest individual score competition with a score of 375, while two other scouts from the District, Joel Starling (1st Horsford & St Faiths) finished 4th with a score of 298, while William Dingle (11th Norwich) was fifth with a score of 261.
